Firesafe Inc. has since 1981 provided the Norwegian and Scandinavian building market with fire-proofing. We are specialists within structural fire-proofing. Our motto is that we shall provide complete services within this field, i.e all labour and products employed in a construction with certain fire-proofing requirements.
We were established as a division of Protan Inc., called Protan Fire-Proofing. Until 1986 we expanded with branches through out of Norway. Our field of expertise was structural fire-proofing with emphasis on sealing of wiring and plumbing ducts in walls, floors and ceilings.
In 1987 we developed further within structural fire-proofing, with fire-proof doors and more comprehensive sectioning, as well as expanding into Denmark with branches in Copenhagen and Aarhus.
In 1989 Norsk Hydro took over Protan Inc., our operations being incorporated in Hydro Care. A long term strategy was prepared with the aim of becoming a total provider within fire-proofing, which we are today.
Firesafe began manufacturing its own fire-proofing products in 1990 and today has become a well recognized manufacturer.
We changed our name to Firesafe Inc. in 1991, took over a door manufacturer, a joint venture partner in Bodø and a competitor in Oslo. An advisory department was also established, such that today we can offer everything from expert evaluation to product sales or complete packages.
In 2004 we expanded into Sweden through the purchase of GPG Fire Systems Ltd, and today we have 3 branches; in Stockholm, Skåne and Gothenburg.
In 2009 Firesafe Consulting, our fire technical advisory unit, was established with their own logo and colours. Today we have 20 fire technical engineers situated in Oslo and Trondheim. The unit provides all types of fire technical engineering and support for building projects and existing buildings.
Today we are a privately owned company with 350 employees who take responsibility for their job and their firm.
